1st Honeymoon: Day 2 (Desert Safari)

On the 2nd day of our stay in Dubai, we went for a Desert Safari with Arabian Adventours Tour. We were picked up at our hotel by our driver and guide Roshin. We got into a 4 wheel drive Chevrolet, which is a 7 seater. Which means we'll be sharing the car with 2 other couples. The first couple is from Swiss and the other from India. The Indian couple straight away take the back seats, we sat in the middle with the Swiss guy and the Swiss lady sat in the front passenger seat. Then off we go headed to the deserts.

There's alot of local tours offering Desert Safari rides, however according to Agnes who have tried it twice before, the Arabian Adventours one is the best so far. The Desert Safari tour takes about 5-6 hours where we'll go dune bashing, watching sunset at the dunes, camel riding, sisha smoking, dinner and watching a belly dance performance at a camp in the middle of the desert. We found that the Arabian Adventours is run by the Emirates Airline and that they have their own camp and part of the desert that is restricted only to their tours. So we won't get lost in the middle of nowhere and there won't be any nomadic tribes in the area we'll be visiting.

Write wrongly, it should be Feb 13
When we entered Arabian Adventures private area in the desert, the cars all lined up to deflate their tires to half their tire pressure to get ready for some dune bashing. There was a convoy of more than 40 cars so we were divided into 2 convoy groups. Everyone put on their seat belts and our driver Roshin hit the pedal through the dunes like it was some kind of roller coaster ride, he had his own compiled dance CD on the stereo.

You could hear some giggles in the video, that's the Indian couple seating behind us. The reason they wanted to sit right at the back is because I think there's some hanky panky going on throughout the whole ride. We just kinda ignored them. The Swiss lady sitting at the front passenger seat is very friendly, we found out the she works as a waitress back in Swiss but she saves to go travelling a couple of times a year. She stayed at the Atlantis Palm for 5 nights, we were like wahh... we only can afford to stay there 1 night, either her waitressing job pays her alot or she spents all her savings on travelling.

Our convoy made a stop so everyone can get down and play on the sand, take some photos and catch the sunset which is at exactly 5.45pm local time.

Getting down to take some pictures
The wife feeling powerful

Its difficult to walk up the dunes, even when she had boots on

Although we're right in the middle of a dessert, its somewhat winter season during February so it was kinda chilly. But we preferred the cool air rather than a scorching heat.

Never been in the desert before
We had to try to take our own shots, by this time then we realised we should have brought our photography team from the wedding along, need Ian to take our photos lah, if not ask people to take also all not in focus one.

Want to go toilet, dunno if pee in the sand got kena fine not

Look the sun is beginning to set

We got back into the car after the sun has set and we drove for the campsite.
