The Movie Posters: First Mission

One of the highlists we have at the wedding are the 7 posters that are displayed before the entrance to the ballroom. The 7 posters each have a unique theme of its own and the title are sequenced 1 to 7. Each of the poster depicts a story about us.

Mr & Mrs Lee:
First Mission

Our first poster is themed like a romance drama, our first mission of course would be to be as a newly wed couple.

The Movie

We are officially Married!!!

We'll like to Thank everyone for all the support and wishes that you have given us up till the biggest day of our life.
Here's the video of our long awaited movie entitled:

MY WIFE IS POW3RFUL

Hopefully we still have energy left for the wedding night :)

The Prewed Photo Clip

Our prewed photos are compiled into a photoclip by Ian Photography.

I personally chose the soundtrack of Anatasia for the background music. The tune sort of builds up atmosphere up till the moment the Bride & Groom enters the Ballroom during the reception.

Music: At the beginning - Donna Lewis & Richard Marx

Heheheh, I really like the slide show, keep watching it again and again.

Oh by this time, we should have started the Holy Matrimony, Thanks all for your support, we hope that everything goes as planned today and by the end of the day, we'll be Mr & Mrs Purnata.

The Childhood Photo Clip

Both Agnes and I searched through all of our childhood photos to be compiled into a photo clip by Ianphotography.

A + D Childhood Photoclip from Ianphotography on Vimeo.

To all friends and family members that have inadvertently been included in the pictures, maybe we don't see each other anymore or we're living in different parts of the workd but I'll just like to say Thanks for sharing some good memories together.

Music: Savage Garden - I knew I love You

The Day before Tomorrow

Both of us didn't get much sleep, too much to think about.
I have alot of pimples lah, the hair dresser recommended me to go use SKII mask before I sleep, then apply concealer to hide the pimples. -_-
I'm seriously contemplating about getting the mask now.

Anyway, preparations are almost done, small little details we leave it the the Wedding Organisers.
Countdown till the show begins!!!

Old people say after the wedding cannot leave the room for 3 days. Hmm..I wouldn't mind doing that, lol.

The Prewed Photos: Grand Harbour Hotel 2

The hotel room in Harbour Grand hotel has a very nice bathroom. It has one of glass walls with automatic binds that is remote controlled either to close or open to show a full view of the bathroom from the bed area. I think we got ourselves a honeymoon suite, lol. We weren't married yet so we just left the binds fully closed. Ian and Irene also spent alot of time in our room so it isn't a good idea to let them have full view of us when we're taking a dump.

This is Agnes' favourite shot of the two of us in the circular bath tub. To get this shot all four of us were actually squeezed in the tubs cubicle, Ian had to take the shot from above us, while Irene had to arrange Agnes's dress. Not exactly our idea of a foursome in the tub.

I like how they decorate the walls with small marble tiles

This was taken in the hotel's lobby, where they have a gold plated harp. Every evening a girl will come by and play the harp to entertain the hotel guests. We wanted to take a closer shot to the harp, but the hotel security didn't let us anywhere near the harp, for fear of us damaging the hotel's expensive property.

This is the last of the prewedding photos. We uploaded all 144 shots that Ian took and edited for us. The unedited ones are compiled in a DVD with  500 more shots. If you like the pictures Ian took, go check out their site at http://ianphotoblog.com/

The Wedding Vows

Less than a week to the wedding.
We're in the process of memorizing the weddings vows given to us by Pastor Daniel.
We'd have to say out the vows to each other during the Holy Matrimony before we are pronounced husband and wife.

Its in Indonesian, in English it translates to:

Groom's Wedding Vow

1. In the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, I David Purnata take you as my one and only lawful wedded wife.

2. I promise to take care of you and provide for your needs from this day on, be it in good times or in difficult times, in abundance or scarcity , in sickness and in health.

3. I promise to take care and be responsible for the children that you may bear with love and bring them to our Lord Jesus Christ.

4. I promise to love and respect you as my wife that God has given to me for the rest of my life.

In the presence of God I promise!

Agnes say she memorized all of hers ready, if me I spend 1 whole day just to memorize 1 point so that it'll be embedded in my consciousness and won't fumble with the words during the actual day with all the pressure. Now I'm only up till the 2nd point.

The Prewed Photos: Hong Kong Convention Centre

Agnes' Kukong (Grand Uncle) brought us to the Hong Kong convention centre to take some shots with a scenic view of the Hong Kong island. However, there was a heavy downpour and visibility was limited. Since we're were at the convention centre, we settled for some indoor shots.

The SangJit (Engagement)

According to our family traditions, the girl's family would request for a Sang Jit or sort of an engagement, where the guys family would have to bring gifts and Hong Pao (Red Packets) as dowry for the the girl.

We had our Sang Jit on Sunday 16th of January 2010. From the guys (David) side of the family, we need to have 6 representatives each bringing sort of a gift to visit the girl's (Agnes) family. My parents and I are not allowed to go to Agnes place, we are to wait at home till the representatives from our family come back bringing back half of the gifts as a sign that they were successful in asking Agnes' family for permission for her to be betrothed to me.

Some families choose not to have the SangJit at all as it's been considered old fashioned, but we just sticked to tradition and continued with it, although we didn't make it such a big deal.

The 6 representatives from Dave's family each holding parcel as a gift.
Left to right: Engkim Nelly (Auntie), Ci Lily (Mum's niece), Priska (Ci Lily's daughter, she's supposed to call me uncle by the way),  Engku Benny (Uncle), Budi (Cousin), Yadi (Cousin).

Pictures have to be taken as they leave the house, 1 by 1 with the gifts in hand.

The head representative from Dave's family, Engkim Nelly

Ci Lily, mum's niece although their age difference isn't that big
My niece
Engku Benny is mum's elder brother
Cousin Budi who owns a heli toy shop
Cousin Yadi
Although I'm not supposed to go to Agnes' place, I followed them in the car to show them the way to her house.

There was a large downpour, we waited in the car for the rain to stop
The 6 representatives arrives at Agnes' place
The gifts are placed on the table
The gifts are then divided equally and shared among both families as a symbol of unity between the two families.

Note: Photos from Agnes side of the family are taken from a different camera, will post them when I receive them.

The Prewed Photos: Grand Habour Hotel

10 days left to the wedding, really feeling the pressure now. On some days find it difficult to breathe, so much to do, so much to handle. Getting emo, blarrr, error.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We stayed at the Grand Habour Hotel in Hong Kong. While the Venetian Macau's decor is more Italian Classic style, this one has a more modern type of view.

In the hotel room

Why is there bald patch on my head? Omg!!!

At the hotel's upper lobby

Agnes dress looks like is being blown up by wind, while in fact Irene had to hold it up high, then release it while scrambling out of the way for Ian to take the shot. We did alot of takes for this one.

Very nice shot of her dress with the tail in the air

The Technical Meeting

Notes: There's a few concerned people still asking me how Lil' Dave is doing.
Rest assured peeps, the stiches have all come off and the wound is healed. Lil' Dave is out of his cocoon.
The Caterpilla has become a beautiful Butterfly!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had our technical meeting with all the vendors and the Hotel staff on Wednesday, 12th Jan 2011.
The purpose of the technical meeting is to get all the vendors together and discuss about the wedding day and get everything organised.

The attendees were from:
The Hotel Management
The Wedding Organisers - IWP Organiser
The Video Team - Chronicles Productions
The MC - Harlan
The Music Team - Andrew Lee
The Decor - De Sketsa
And of course the Bride & Groom to be

The WO team on the left, Mr Irwan (Hotel's Marketing Manager) center and the video team on the right
On the right we have MC Harlan and Agnes the bride-to-be
To start off the meeting, we have a briefing with the head of security. Wah macam like G7 summit like that.
He's like: if there's anyone acting weird on the day, I'll tackle him on the ground and do a 4-figure choke until he passes out, UFC Style!

Dun pray pray with him ah

Andrew Lee (Music) is the one in black seated at the far end of the table, Rina from De Sketsa at the right
There's a snack bar with cake and drinks, look who ta pao (take away) the food
Tehehehehe...will use this photo to blackmail Irene to make sure everything in the wedding will be perfect.
Btw, I'm not in any of the photos, I'm busy taking them while they're doing the rundown of the whole event.

The Awards

As a token of appreciation for our guests, we have 5 awards to be given out on the wedding reception. The prize is still top secret.

The awards will be given out as follows:

  • Best Dressed Female - Not only look stunning, but well dressed. (As much as I want to check out all the hot chicks, I'm gonna be stuck on stage, so the Wedding Organisers will be the judges).
  • Best Dressed Male - The Wedding Organiser team consists mostly of women, so I'm sure they'll enjoy judging this one.
  • Best Wishes made to us
  • Hand Bouquet Throwing - The person who can catch the flower bouquet as thrown by the Bride.
  • The Winner who can answer the riddle in our Movies (Hint: Movies)
We made sure with the vendors that as formal as a wedding should be, we just want to enjoy the evening and make it a memorable one for our guests, so I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun. Make sure to dress up, the theme is HOLLYWOOD, so DRESS UP LIKE STARS!

The Prewed Photos: Lan Kwai Fong

On the 2nd day, we took a ferry from Macau to Hong Kong. After checking in at the hotel we headed for Lan Kwai Fong, Agnes' favourite clubbing district. There was a light drizzle, but die die also have to come here take photo. Upon arriving we went to have a very nice dinner then we started snapping away at the streets. The locals were all gathering around and watching, we don't care just take photo let them think we were doing professional modelling work.

Her favourite district of pubs and clubs

This was a very fun photo to take, the taxi's were all stuck in a jam, so we stood in between two of them and proceeded to pose and take photos. The pissed off cab driver have to see us block his way and pose so mushy like that.

Our attire was suitable for clubbing, we planned to go hit the clubs after we're done, but we were all so tired that we hailed a cab back to our hotel to get some rest.
