Banyan Tree Macau

Haven't update the blog since we came back from the Hari Raya Holidays on August. Hehehe ipad2 and PS3 are real time killers, all productivity drops to 0.
We actually planned to go to Greece for this holiday but news of riots and the bad economy condition make us think better go somewhere safer lah. Maybe if we go Greece the Acropolis also kena sold already to help the economy.
Therefore on the 26th of August till the 10 of September we go on a free and easy tour to Hong Kong, Macau, Hang Zhou, Shang Hai and Guang Zhou as the last stop before we transit in KL back to Jakarta.
As usual lah, the wife if go travelling have to stay in some award winning hotel are something like that, so the highlight of the trip was our stay in Banyan Tree Macau.

The Banyan Tree Macau is located in the Galaxy Macau which have 3 integrated hotels with a central casino. The reason the wife chose to stay in Banyan Tree rather than the Venetian is that she wanted to try something new, besides the price is relatively similar, with the Banyan Tree having a private pool in each of its standard suite rooms.

When my friend asked me how much a room cost at Banyan Tree I only reply, if stay there ah, if cannot sh1t gold then will vomit blood. But then ah, vomit blood also once in a lifetime at least try one time can lah, just for the experience, won't regret one.

Ok so we know all the standard rooms are suites, here's what the room looks like.

The living area from the entrance to the room. There's a long couch, big Lcd screen with a samsung 3d surround bar. We full blasted the volume to MTV asia hits throughout. Superb sound quality lah. Near to the windows is the private pool. The Banyan Tree Macau is the only Hotel with all its standard suite rooms each with their own private pool. We wanted to take a dip lah but the water was cold, I think the water haven't been changed for some time. Taking a closer look at the pool, wah really ah, can spot curly2 hair, who knows where that might have come from. The hotel not to blame lah they are doing their part to save water as a step for going green.

Next to the pool also have couch, actually can save alot of money if got alot of people crashing in. Can accomodate more than 6 people lah, 2 on the bed, 2 on the couch, 2 on the pool side couch. Actually sleep in the pool or the bathtub also can, still plenty of space. Save up on 3 regular hotel rooms in Macau and viola you get a stay at the Banyan Tree Macau, lol.

There's a study with a mini bar and pantry.

The private pool, its twice the size of a large bath tub but I wouldn't call it a pool also. Maybe just refer to it as a jacuzzi.
View of the room with better lighting.

The other partitioned part of the room is where the super king size bed is facing the bathroom area. Only got those wooden partitions to cover the bathing area, maybe not such a good idea when there's a whole group of people staying in the same room. Unless of course planning for some sort of 'group activity'.
Bath area
Wah look at the wooden tub, this one like those used in Kung Fu movies, when the guy kena poison palm or some super killer skill then heavily injured. Then have to meditate in one of this wooden tub filled with medicine, flower and got smoke ashing out. Then when he's cured, want to go wack back the guy for revenge he smash out of the tub. This type of tub for dramatic effect want lah, nowadays we use shower one.

When taking a look at the toilet bowl, woahhh this one then high tech.
Toilet bowl also got so many instructions one, in English, in Mandarin and Japanese some more. This must be what the Japanese use to take a dump, back in Indonesia most public toilet still use squatting type, that one not even called bowl.
Rear cleansing, rear cleansing soft, front cleansing, pressure plus/minus, position up/down. Woah sounds like fun ah. Pooh don't want come out also have to try, when sit on it ah, woahhh shiok lah the seat is warm one. Woah comfy siaaaaaaa, if got bring ipad comfirm this is the best place to sit and play all day. Just put a glass of bubble tea beside you, sure can play for hours.

Double basins so we don't disturb each other when brushing teeth or making up. Nowadays at home also need to have 2 basins in the main bath, if not when brushing teeth at the same time ah have to spit pass each other's shoulder.
Double showers also, no more queues.

The toiletries provided are all Banyan Tree spa products, the shampoo conditioner and bath gel all smell so nice one. Throughout the whole trip we showered the most number of times during our stay at Banyan Tree. Too bad lah they never put in those small plastic containers if not we sure bring back a whole lot of the cleaner's trolley for souvenir.

Got provide aromatherapy oil and incense, different scent for each day of the week. So from the hotel lobby to the room everyday all smell different.

DeLonghi coffee maker and milk steamer. Looks cool.

Only provide 3 different coffee flavours, I tried using the coffee machine but don't know how to use, too high tech. Still nespresso better and the coffee also taste much better.

As per usual if we go on vacation its always a honeymoon, so of course the hotel better have to provide some perks for us. This time they give a bottle of wine and a chocolate cake.

We stayed at the Banyan Tree Macau for two days, pure indulgence we didn't go out very much, only go down casino play a while to try earn back how much we paid for the room, but then end up donating even more, so go back to the room again. I see2 the above pic ah, if got stick a few fake tattoos then look like Yakuza.

The Wedding Interview (Part 4)

Sorry guys, we haven't been updating the blog. Anyways here's the last video for the wedding interview of our guests during the wedding.

Don't have the best software to compress the videos so look a bit like pirated DVD version video like that. At least don't have shadow of people going to the bathroom. When we have better bandwidth and better video editing software then we'll update all the videos with a higher res one.

The Wedding Photos: Groom's Preparation

Being a guy has its benefits, unlike the Bride who had to do her makeup at 7am in the morning on her wedding day, I started getting ready at 9am. This doesn't mean that I had enough beauty sleep, both of us were unable to sleep for the past 2 days, due to the pressure of the wedding day itself. There's too many details and little bits here and there that we have to get right.

The Wedding Attire:
Groom's corsage: White tulip
Bestman's corsage: Pink dunno what flower
Cuff links
The tux in the morning is accompanied by a silver sash and bow-tie
The Suit for the wedding reception in the evening
Wedding ring
This post is brought to you by: Issey Miyake. The scent that snagged the Bride
Bestman was there to help put on the wedding attire
The Holy Matrimony attire is a tuxedo, with a silver bow-tie

A matching silver sash to hold the mid-section in
Looks like a scene from Brokeback Mountain
Tim: Bro U fat! Dave: No lah just big boned
Waxed the shoes along with the car 2 days before. Not that the car mattered. But look at the shine. Used Kiwi shoe polish for the shoes, imagine if I had used Meguiars auto wax products on them.

Parent's arrival:

Parent's arrive at the groom's room to help put on the rest of the wedding attire
Putting on gloves

Sister's entrance:
Sis had to cut the ribbon with the red scissors

If she don't want to cut the ribbon ah, means don't let us through to continue with the wedding
Thanking the bestman for the help
Groom and dad waits patiently for Bride's arrival
