Written by Ian Photography:

Last year we had the most fun pre-wedding session with David & Agnes in Macau & Hong Kong. We gained 2-3 kilos in 3 days because they kept feeding us with buffet after buffet! This year the fun was reignited on their wedding day.

The Hollywood theme decoration was inspired by their love for movies. We even did their hollywood themed pre-wedding movie posters and movie. The movie caused bursts of laughter when it was screened at their wedding. We think they could make a great pair of actor and actress!

It was great shooting this funny couple, never a dull moment! We are glad to know them and we wish them a lifetime of happiness. Cheers!

1st Honeymoon: Burj of Khalifa & Armani Hotel

On the last day that we had in Dubai, we woke up to have breakfast at The Palace, Old Town.

Last day we be dining in The Palace
We headed to the Burj Khalifa, tallest tower in the world and tried to go up the towers. But the tickets were sold out for the next 3 days.

The Mall of Dubai and the Dubai Fountain
Such splendid view within walking range of where we stay
Guests who do not purchase a ticket are not allowed to enter the Burj of Khalifa, undeterred by we decided to enter the Armani Hotel which is located at a section of the Burj.
The cars parked outside the Armani Hotel
The concierge told us that hotel guests can choose which one of these cars they want to pick them up from the airport. The choice includes Lamborgini, Aston Martin and Bentleys.

Acting cool when entering the Armani Hotel, like we're staying there
We tried to bluff our way through so that we can get to the top of the Burj through the Armani Hotel. Turns out that the Armani Hotel is situated until the 17th floor of the Burj and that's the highest we can go. Disappointed but nonetheless wanting to feel like royalty, we went into one of the restaurants to try out the food they serve there.
Even the menu is gold colour and got Armani Brand
They served complimentary bread, I was contend with just having to eat free bread
Posing like a million bucks
We ordered two main and 1 dessert
The food is prepared like those masterchef shows you watch on TV. Good presentation and taste really good.
We had to wait 30 mins for the sponge cake, it's really nice with the sweet tasting foam
I enjoyed the dessert, good things are always worth the wait, but the wife is furious having to wait for 30mins just for a sponge cake and wasting her shopping time.
Having tried out the food in the Armani Hotel, I can say that their food is really top notch and while I was slightly worried that the bill would burn a hole in my pocket, the price was actually much similar to a fine dining experience in Jakarta. Only that this is a whole different standard, very good value for money, either that or everything in Jakarta is over priced nowadays.

We received a gift upon leaving the restaurant, I thought its an Armani perfune, turns out that its cookies in a fancy Armani Box
That's all of the photos from our 5 day Honeymoon trip to Dubai. Finally managed to upload them all.

1st Honeymoon: Valentines Dinner

The best part of the Honeymoon is that the 4th day coincides with February the 14th, Valentines Day!!! The wife is so happy that she can spend Valentines in Dubai together. We tried to book a table at a couple of popular restaurants but most of them was fully booked. Asking the hotel's concierge we were pleased to fine out that the hotel we stay in The Palace, Old Town has a few restaurants that were recommended in local magazines for its cuisines and for the view. The hotel also prioritized our booking as we were staying there. In the end we got to have Thai (got kinda sick of the local food and western fine dining, was just looking forward to eating fried rice) beside the Dubai Fountain!

Thai decorations to the entrance of the restaurant
There's our seat
Splendid view of the Dubai Fountain and the surrounding buildings
The Burj Khalifa
Every half and hour the fountain will perform a musical water show. We spent almost two hours at the restaurant and watched at least 4 unique performances with different songs.

It's down to ordering our Valentines Dinner
We got a 6 course meal in the Valentines package
Food glorious food!!!
Even the desert is specially presented for the occasion

I tried taking a few shots of the Burj of Khalifa, I reckoned this was the best shot, it has to be shot diagonally to fit the whole building into the picture.

Here's a video of one of the Dubai Fountain's performance:

Taking a stroll after dinner
Decided to try out Sisha before heading to our room
I'm liking this, apple flavoured
The wife tried it out but she didn't like it

It was the best valentines day we had, the wife is definitely pleased

1st Honeymoon: Day 4 (Mall of Dubai)

Day 4 of our Honeymoon in Dubai, we just wanted to relax. Its February the 14th, meaning we got to celebrate Valentines Day in Dubai!!! Incidentally the 15th of February is also a huge public holiday in Dubai, the Birthdate of Prophet Mohammad. The local restaurants and bar refers to such holidays as a dry night. I didn't get what dry night means when doing dinner bookings until one of the waitress explained that on Islamic Holidays, restaurant and bars will not serve alcoholic drinks to patrons in respect to the Islamic Holiday. I figured it doesn't matter as long as they still provide water.

In the morning we just relaxed in The Palace's outdoor dinning area for breakfast.

We met at least 3 Indonesian staff in the Hotel. I managed to chat with them a little and asked if they liked working in Dubai. Although they said the pay is just enough for living expenses, I'm sure they each manage to save up enough money for their families back home. The working conditions here are much better than working back home. Plus they get annual leave to go back to their home countries and the air tickets are most probably paid for by their employers.

The Palace Hotel's swimming pool
We headed to the Mall of Dubai after breakfast. The short stroll to the mall was so enjoyable and memorable. I wouldn't mind walking pass the Burj of Khalifa and the Dubai fountain every morning. What a sight!!!

The Burj of Khalifa
We wanted to try getting into the Burj of Khalifa, but it turns out that tickets to the Burj is sold out for the next 3 days. We could have bought the more expensive express tickets that allows us to enter the Burj whenever we want, but we didn't think it was worth it. We'll leave it for next time, Dubai is on our list of places to revisit in the near future.

Passing through small outdoor eateries on our way to the mall
Large indoor fountain near the food court area
The wife is ready for a shopping spree

Candies, lots of candies
Although the goods in Dubai are tax free, we didn't shop for any clothes or fashion items. We got like lots and lots of chocolates and candies to give out to our friends and families back in Indonesia.

The wife's favourite part of the mall is the Gold Souk.
I got her to pose and take a lot of pictures so that she won't spend to much time in the jewellery stores
