The Wedding Invitation: Earlier Designs

Getting the invitation cards done, was to us one of the most difficult things to agree on. We quarrelled like an already married couple just to agree on one single design that we both like, while we both have different preferences and none of us wanted to give in. There's also the factor that our parents have to like the design we came up with, as a majority of the invitations would be sent out to family members and business associates.

At first we wanted the design to be like movie tickets, but our parents insisted the cards have to be red in colour. After meeting up with a few vendors, we choose one that came up with a design we thought would look nice and unique.

After going through a few design revisions, the final product looked pretty enough on the computer screen. We agreed on having it processed. However, when we were shown a sample of the printed card, we didn't really like it. Upon showing it to our parents, they had much bigger complaints, the red is like an Ang Pao (Red Packet) more suitable for Chinese New Year. None of them liked it, so we had the card revamped by changing the colour to a lighter shade of pink.

When showing this version to our parents, they had no objections. They said it was nice enough to be processed. However, when the day came to tell the vendor to process the printing, Agnes and me both decided that we didn't like it at all. We felt the design was too plain and it just wasn't the card that we wanted. We felt really bad having the vendor to change the design again, so we decided to just drop this vendor (to be incurred a cancellation fee) and get another vendor to design us a card from scratch.

The cards are now ready and we both felt relieved that the final product turned out really nice, some of the people who saw it were impressed as well. I won't post a picture of what the card looks like, just wait for it to come into your mail.

As much as I want to invite everyone that I know for my big day, we know that this will not be possible. We have set a strict budget and the ballroom can only accomodate that much people.
Due to the limited invitations, we'll only mail out to the guests that have confirmed that they will come to the wedding.
Which is why this blog comes into place, everything about the wedding will be documented for those living overseas and those who can't make it to the wedding. Thanks to the advances in Social media technology.
To everyone who says the card is nice, we really appreciate after all the effort we put into it.
