The Premarital Counselling

As mentioned earlier, to be able to have a Pastor bless on our wedding day, we had to fulfill the following requirements:

1. Be baptised in water
2. Be a congregation of a particular church
3. Provide documents that we're not involved in an earlier marriage
4. Have to undergo premarital counselling with the Pastor who will handle our Holy Matrimony

Being so caught up with our wedding arrangements, we couldn't manage to be as active in a particular Church as we hoped for. We were unsure on who would agree on doing our Holy Matrimony when we met Pastor Nick Penders. Pastor Nick is a Dutch who's living in Jakarta together with his wife Bianca Penders and his two children. We met Ps Nick by chance in Jakarta Fair and after finding out that he's a pastor and that I'm a laid back Christian, he invited us to his place for weekly discipleship meetings.

Being his disciples we thought it would be most appropriate if he could do the Holy Matrimony for us. However, even though he's a pastor, he's not a Pastor of a Church that could handle the legal process of a marriage. Hence, we got Ps. Daniel and Mrs Stella of Pondok Agape Church in Kelapa Gading (Located at the Immanuel Christian Bookstore in Kelapa Gading) to do the matrimony, even though we're not the congregation of Pondok Agape Church, Ps Nick is a mentor for that Church and they have graciously agreed to do our wedding.

Counselling sessions will be held by Ps. Nick and his wife Bianca, while Ps. Daniel and Mrs Stella would do 1 session with us to get to know us better.

The next blog entry would be on the 1st counselling session that we have done.
